why this matters

events should be enjoyable, not exhausting or distressing.

people who benefit from a calm space include those who are:

neurodivergent

experiencing anxiety or panic

living with chronic illness, pain or fatigue

recovering from injury or treatment

supporting distressed children or relatives

sensitive to noise, crowds or heat

elderly or mobility limited

simply in need of quiet and rest

guests do not need to disclose personal details or "prove" need. the space is open, respectful and judgement free.

by providing an inclusive event refuge within the event environment, the chill tent enables people to stay longer, enjoy more and feel safe knowing there is somewhere to go if things become too much.

our roots

the chill tent was developed by the team behind send the help cic, a not for profit organisation specialising in inclusive provision, wellbeing and support for individuals facing barriers to participation.

through extensive front-line work with families, young people and communities, one issue became clear: many people were being unintentionally excluded from shared experiences because there was nowhere calm to go.

the chill tent was created as a practical, scalable solution.

while send the help cic continues its wider community work in north devon, the  chill tent now operates as a dedicated inclusion service for events of all kinds nationwide. extending the same ethos of compassion, dignity and accessibility to a broad uk audience.
